We are a type design collective based in Zurich, Switzerland. Besides the love for typography and the ambition to design great typefaces, we aim to achieve the best with fonts in our roles as graphic designers and art directors. By teaching type design we want to contribute our part to bring it forward and spread our passion.

    Founder

    About Dominique

    As a trained advertising designer, the use of type in large degrees is particularly close to my heart. During my further training as a typographic designer, I gained an in-depth insight into typesetting. I am particularly interested in the different areas of application and the associated demands on a typeface. In the CAS Type Design at the Zurich University of the Arts, I dealt with the various contexts of type. The knowledge gained from this enables an application-oriented design.

    About Silvio

    After more than a decade of working in the field of graphic design and typography, I am passionate about designs with a striking and clever use of typefaces. It was during my studies at the School of Design in Zurich, when I decided to start a project that would accompany me for the next years. In the module type design, I started to design my first retail typeface from which the Albula Pro emerged. This newfound passion has further led to the creation of custom fonts and the expansion of the Albula family.

    About Stefanie

    As a graphic designer, my fascination with letters and their intricate shapes blossomed early in my career. To me, certain letters almost embody creatures with unique personalities. Driven by my passion for crafting fonts with distinctive qualities for editorial design, I studied Type Design in the CAS program at ZHdK. This journey gave birth to Brezel Grotesk and deepened my delight in the art of typography. Now, I find immense joy in imparting my love for type to the next generation of graphic design students.

    About Alex

    I have been working as a screen designer since 1996 and am heavily involved with typography and the legibility of type on screen. My training as a typographic designer awakened my interest in typeface design. Designing a typeface that has to meet certain criteria seems to be a special challenge to me. At the Zurich University of the Arts, I attended the CAS Type Design. I was particularly interested in the design of typefaces, taking into account historical and formal requirements.
